The BISD Board of Managers Monday heard from financial consultants and the Interim CFO on cuts for the upcoming school year to the athletics and police departments. In athletics, the consultants looked at reducing $1.2 million in stipends for coaches. That money would come from extra duties and extra work. In the BISD Police Department, the consultants proposed a half million dollars in cuts from 8 positions, stipends, reduction in rank and reduction in the number of days officers work.  Also proposed was cutting 25 bus drivers and selling property owned by the district in Hamshire-Fannett, Lumberton, and Beaumont.   Included is a proposal to raise the tax rate two cents meaning for a $100, 000 home the cost would be an additional 18 to 20 dollars a year.
