The family of a man that was shot and killed by a Beaumont police officer during a disturbance last week will hold a press conference this afternoon at their attorney’s office. On June 24th, Stanley Leger was shot by police in the 3100 block of East Lucas Street. Police responded to the location after receiving a 911 call from a woman who claimed she had been shot at. Once on the scene Leger exited a house with a rifle and officers ordered him to drop the gun. Leger was shot after he pointed the rifle towards officers. Family members say there are discrepancies leading up to the shooting.
