City workers have closed the Lindbergh Overpass until further notice.

At about 1:30 a.m., a train derailed and struck one of the bridge support pillars. City engineers will need to perform an assessment to determine the amount, if any, of structural damage to the pillar. This process will take an undetermined amount of time. To insure public safety, workers decided to close the bridge until they can determine that it suffered no structural damage.

We ask motorists to find alternate routes due to this closure.

No injuries occurred when the train struck the pillar.
