The Groves city council met yesterday and decided to delay appointing a replacement for
Councilman Cross Coburn, who was recalled last week. The council is expected to appoint
someone to the vacated seat at its next meeting. The council also approved Brad Bailey as
mayor. Bailey was scheduled to be in a runoff with Suzanne Williamson, who withdrew from
the race following last week’s election in which Bailey picked up 48% of the vote and
Williamson 46%.
