No doubt when Glenn Frey, the founding member of The Eagles died last year it was a TREMENDOUS loss. I personally felt like I got gut punched when I heard the news but his passing left a HUGE VOID. Fellow Eagle Don Henley said that Frey’s death in 2016 spelled the end of the Eagles, but he later said the only way they could carry on would be with Glenn's son Deacon joining the band.Well, that has in fact happened BUT Vince Gill will also be "filling in" with the Eagles at the Classic East and Classic West festivals later this year. Gill was a one time member of the Pure Prairie League whose music and style was of that of the Eagles so it's not a far stretch by any means and did I mention that man can play a guitar like nobody's business!!! Plus Gill DID perform on the Common Thread: The Songs of the Eagles covering the Eagles hit "I Can't Tell You Why" (watch him perform it in video below) so it's a no brainer AND a "dream come true" for the 60 year old Country Crooner!
