UPDATE June 20 (12:42p CT)- Even before the Atlantic Hurricane Season began on June 1st, forecasters predicted an "Active" season this year and it looks like they were RIGHT!! Rarely do we see much activity in the Gulf Of Mexico this early in the season (based on past Hurricane seasons, there is more activity in September/October that "threatens" our coastline) The activity we have been closing monitoring over the past couple of days has NOW been upgraded to Tropical Storm Cindy What does that mean for us here along the Texas Gulf Coast? Depending on what side of the storm we are on once it does make landfall (Predicted by Thursday) If we are on the "dirty side" or the right side that is not the side we want to be on!! As of Tuesday AM Jefferson and Orange Counties In Southeast Texas are under a Tropical Storm Warning with rainfall and possibly heavy rain over the next 36 hours. There is NO threat of this storm strengthening into a Hurricane because the conditions are not favorable for that at this time. Stay with Kicker 95.1 for the very latest updates.
