Lot's of great new music out but for the sake of saving you some time I am offering up a few of our favorites as suggestions for your Country Playlist and songs you can hear on Kicker 95.1!!!
First let's start with the CMA New Artist of the Year Jon Pardi. He has NOT put out anything I haven't liked yet. The Californina native made his debut in 2012 releasing a few singles that charted but it wasn't until 2015 when he blew us away with his huge hit "Head Over Boots" from his album California Sunrise. His new single "She Ain't In It", the follow up to his only other single from 2017 "Heartache On The Dancefloor", is one that sounds eerily like early George Strait to me and I LOVE IT!
Next is ABSOLUTELY my favorirte new song and it REALLY surprises me. Let me explain...I am a die-hard Traditional Country fan and love the Classics but this song is ANYTHING but traditional. It does cover the traditional country "guidelines" content wise...ya know, guy likes girl, girl breaks guys heart so he drinks away her memory blah blah blah but from the moment I heard this song, I could not get it out of my hand. The infectious tune immediately had me dancing and singing. It's fun, catchy, and unlike ANYTHING on the radio right now!!! You may not have heard of Walker Hayes but he is NOT a new-comer! He released his first single 7 years ago with little success BUT I think this song is going to make him a name we hear A LOT more of! Take a listen but BE WARNED...you will probably be singing it the rest of the day!!! "You Broke Up With Me"
Up next is a gentleman that found himself on Rolling Stone Magazine's list 10 New Country Artist You Need To Know and we totally agree that you need to hear this young man from Shreveport, Lousiana who just released the "easy-sing-a-long song" that I can't stop singing along to!!! It's Jordan Davis "Singles You Up"
Devin Dawson, the California native and one time member of a Metal Band, was recently one of our iHeart Country's On The Verge Artists with a song that is "all over the map" style wise. Hints of rock, R&B and Country all come together on the single Dawson co-wrote with his fraternal twin Jacob "All On Me"
Finally, there is Russell Dickerson who's new single "Yours" actually isn't "new" so why are we just now hearing possibly the biggest love song of the year?!?! Well I am not quite sure but apparently the single was first released on an EP back in 2016 ago and was released for radio play earlier this year and quickly has become a popular song for couple's getting married this year!!!
