Is Alexa Laughing At Us???
We have Alexa which we love so much we put one in our living room, master bedroom and our son's room. Last Friday night my 9-year old and me were watching tv in the living room and it was late so we had the tv turned down low so we wouldn't disturb my husband who is a shift-worker. Out of nowhere I hear noises coming out of my bedroom where I know my husband is asleep and it freaked me out a little until I realized the voice was our Alexa. Apparently there is some odd things going on with Alexa's everywhere. I didn't get the "laughing" more of a mumbling but it did totally creep me and my son out!!
So what is Amazon doing to fix "the laughing bug"? Amazon said its planned fix will involve disabling the phrase, “Alexa, laugh,” and changing the command to “Alexa, can you laugh?” The company says the latter phrase is “less likely to have false positives,” or in other words the Alexa software is likely to mistake common words and phrases that sound similar to the one that makes Alexa start laughing"
Now if they can just get her to quit farting when my 9 year-old, who thinks flatulence is FUNNY, asks her to fart that would be AWESOME!!!
