Rockport Urges People To Come "Visit" Them This Summer

The Rockport-Fulton area, located on the Texas Coast, was where Hurricane Harvey hit first but as the monster storm made it's way up the Coast and eventually to us here in Southeast Texas, the town seemed to be "forgotten" while Houston became the focus. Sadly Rockport was nearly wiped off the map as Harvey dealt it's devastating blow on the coastal town who's economy relies mostly on tourism. The rebuilding and recovery has been a task for sure but coming along and now they want everyone to know "they are open for business" urging tourists to come visit this Summer. To help boost tourism they began a campaign and enlisted George Strait to be their voice to get their message out. Only fitting since he and wife Norma are rumored to own a home in the Key Allegro addition in Rockport.

Last year right after Harvey you may remember that George Strait spearheaded the "Hand in Hand: Texas concert to raise money for Hurricane Harvey relief. The star-studded concert, which was held in conjunction with the nationwide telethon Hand In Hand: Benefit for Hurricane Harvey Relief, netted over $4 Million!  He is truly a Texas treasure and makes me proud to be a Texan too!!
