This past Tuesday, the eve of the CMA's, I blogged who I thought would win each category (all except musician of the year) so out of 11 categories let's see how I did...First, my original blog, so you know there was no "editing" or changing my picks. (Hey I take this seriously lol)
Now on to who ACTUALLY WON last night...
First we begin with Entertainer of The Year. I went with my gut on this one and my gut was RIGHT!! I felt it was "time" for this incredibly talented artist to win the prestigious honor...
Keith Urban, who seemed as shocked and fighting back the tears as he made his way to accept his award, has only won in that category once before and that was back in 2005! So NAILED it!
Next, CMA Female Vocalist of the Year Although Miranda Lambert has dominated that category since 2010 (only losing in 2016) I predicted this would be Carrie Underwood's year to win and SHE DID!!
Whoooo-hooo I am 2 for 2!!!!
Next CMA Male Vocalist of the Year...hmmmm I wasn't really confident in my pick on this one because ALL the nominees in the category had a great year but I knew Chris Stapleton won last year and I figured he was still "riding on the momentum" and I WAS RIGHT!!
WOW I am on FIRE!!!! Well that was until NOW...I blew the CMA Vocal Group of the Year *sigh*
I predicted Little Big Town but Old Dominion went home with that honor last night...congratulations guys!!!
So the remaining categories, meh, I did ok.....DID NOT see Kacey Musgraves winning CMA Album Of The Year but happy our Texas girl won for her album "Golden Hour" and I figured the CMA Vocal Group of the Year would go to Dan + Shay WRONG!! Brothers Osborne for the win!
CMA Musical Event Of The Year? Nope missed it....Thought "Meant To Be" by Bebe Rexa/Florida Georgia Line would receive that honor..instead it was .David Lee Murphy and Kenny Chesney "Everything's Gonna Be Alright" won! Kenny was scheduled to appear at last night's CMA Awards but according to a tweet by The Country Music Association regarding his absence, the country star had to cancel due to a death in the family.
Our thoughts and prayers going out to Kenny and his family
Well all in all I may have missed those and the Music Video of the Year (Thomas Rhett Marry Me won) but nailed the New Artist of the Year (Luke Combs) Song and Single Of The Year (Broken Halos-Chris Stapleton) I can live with 6 correct out of 11 categories!!
Congratulations to all of last night's CMA winners!! Scroll down to watch the "Top 5 Moments" from the CMA's!
