Band Says They Were Dropped From Fair Lineup Because Of Their Name

The band who enjoyed success on the Country charts in the 90's with hits like "Jesus and Mama", "Trashy Women", and "Daddy Never Was The Cadillac Kind" is being "banned" simply because of their name.

READ: Confederate Railroad Dropped From Lineup Because Of The Band Name

Confederate Railroad, formed in 1987 in Atlanta Georgia, uses a logo that features a steam locomotive flying Confederate flags, which have been criticized as racist emblems harkening back to slavery and segregation; supporters claim the flag represents Southern heritage and history. Either way, however you view the flag we are not debating that....My gripe is the band has used the name for over 30 years and NOW it's an issue?!?!? Why Illinois, WHY?? Well as we dig deeper, Democrat County Clerk Josh Gross, who is part of Gov, Pritzker's administration WHO HIRED them in the first place (and they have played that fair previously!!) has stated “The Illinois Department of Agriculture has removed Confederate Railroad from our 2019 Du Quoin State Fair Grandstand lineup" adding “While every artist has a right to expression, we believe this decision is in the best interest of serving all of the people in our state.” Well Mr. Gross, with all due respect, apparently not everybody in the state feels that more here

Even the Chicago Times thinks Gov. Pritzker was "wrong for to give Confederate Railroad the boot"..Yes the Chicago Times!! See the editorial here

And a tweet (see below) from Charlie Daniels pretty much says what a lot of us Southerners are thinking!!!

We would love to hear your thoughts so drop us a comment!
