Harvey Recovery Funding

Federal funding from Tropical Storm Harvey here in southeast Texas continues to come in.

Jefferson County Judge Jeff Branick says the federal government has put more than $868

million into the hands of 32,000 Jefferson County citizens for individual assistance. In Orange

County, the federal government has spent $1.4 billion in housing, flood claims, and

SAB loans and in Hardin County, the number is $400 million.  A couple of months ago,

Jefferson County had around 1,200 households still in FEMA funded hotels. That number is

now down to 226 households.
