FEMA Update On Imelda Recovery

FEMA Assistance By the Numbers:

  • As of Nov. 17, 2019:
    •  More than $60.6 million in disaster grants has been approved for Texas homeowners and renters.
      • Over $51.7 million in housing grants for people to assist in rebuilding or repairing their homes and to provide a safe place to stay.
      • More than $8.9 million in grants for Other Needs Assistance to survivors.
    • 14 FEMA inspectors completed 21,025 home inspections, or more than 99 percent complete
    • DRCs have received 4,755 visits.
    • As of Saturday, Nov. 16, DSA has visited 38,474 homes, had 14,678 survivor interactions, performing 1,091 registrations in local communities.
    • As of Nov. 14, SBA has received 3,243 applications for low-interest disaster loans and has approved more than $52.34million.
    • As of Nov 15, NFIP has received 10,784 claims, 7,511 of which (or 70 percent) have closed with the total amount paid of $480.9 million.

State/federalDisasterRecoveryCenters(DRC)are nowopeninOrange, Liberty, Montgomery, Harris, Jefferson and Chamber counties. All DRCs are open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., six days a week (Monday – Saturday) unless otherwise noted and until furthernotice. Survivors with damages within the designated counties can visit any available Disaster Recovery Center to seek assistance.
