The Jefferson County grand jury has indicted a man for accident involving injury or death. Police
report 52-year old Jason Lynn McKnight was traveling on Delaware Street in Beaumont on
March 29th when he struck a bicyclist. He left the scene and with the help of witnesses was
arrested a few blocks away. The bicyclist 37-year old Edward Stedman of Beaumont, was
transported to a Houston hospital where he died on April 8th.
