Beaumont police have released the name of a contract worker that was killed Tuesday morning
after being struck by vehicles in a construction zone on Eastex Freeway southbound ,near Tram
Road. 27-yearold Andrew Mendez Lopez, of Houston, died at a local hospital A second
contract worker sustained serious injuries. The two were working in the construction zone when
they were struck by vehicles involved in a wreck.
