Carly Pearce has the sweetest place for her history-making Grammy award. The superstar singer-songwriter gushed over there first-ever Grammy — which she won with Ashley McBryde, for the duo’s powerful heartbreak ballad, “Never Wanted To Be That Girl” — in a statement shared by her record label:
“I have like an area now that has all of my awards. And my grandma, when she was little, used to sit around this really old radio from the 40s that my great grandfather always listened to. And he loved country music and listened to WSM all the time, and my parents for my induction into the Grand Ole Opry, they had it refurbished, the radio. And so it’s in my house now, and I think that the Grammy is gonna sit right on top of the radio.”
Pearce and McBryde won in the Best Country Duo/Group Performance category. It was Pearce’s first-ever nomination, and the first time that two women have been the winners of the category, they noted in an interview at the 65th Annual Grammy Awards last month.
Pearce is the latest addition to the all-star iHeartCountry Festival lineup on May 13, at Moody Center in Austin, Texas. Fans across the country will able to tune in to all of the incredible live performances at this year's iHeartCountry Festival as the event will be broadcast on iHeartRadio country stations nationwide, and on iHeartRadio.com as well as the iHeartRadio app on Saturday, May 13th at 8pm ET/5pm PT.
