A 21-year-old Houston man has been charged in connection with a Saturday morning shooting of a man outside The Park on Calder. Beaumont police say off-duty Beaumont Police officers were working security when they heard shots fired in the alley of the club just before 2am. Thirty-year-old Leroy Smith of Beaumont died in the shooting. After a brief chase police arrested 21-year-old Augusta Simon of Houston and 39-year-old Horace Peterson of Houston. Simon has been charged with murder and Justice of the Peace Ben Collins set his bond at $995,000. The club opened last week.
