There will be an additional traffic signal installed today at the intersection of 11th and Washington
in Beaumont. It will be located between the railroad tracks and Washington and is intended for
southbound traffic. This is called a “pre-signal” and is a federal requirement to prevent vehicles
from being trapped on the tracks when traffic backs up at the intersection.
