Longtime Beaumont Fire Chief Pete Shelton has passed away at the age of 92. As time as chief, Shelton instituted a number of innovations to the department and was the driving force to bring the Fire Museum of Texas to Beaumont. Current Fire Chief Earl White says Chief Shelton was an influence on him and the city lost a great man. Funeral services are pending.
