Brad Paisley hilariously answered a call from his son during a performance on stage.
“Hang on. My son is calling me on my phone right now. He really is,” Paisley told the audience as he reached for his phone while he was on stage on Saturday night (May 10) at the Encore Theater at Wynn in Las Vegas, Nevada. Paisley and his wife, actress Kimberly Williams-Paisley, have two sons: William “Huck” Huckleberry Paisley and Jasper Warren Paisley, ages 18 and 16, respectively. The country star said to his son, “hey, I’m in the middle of the concert. Can you hear me? Yeah, well, the audience can almost hear you, too, so — what’s the issue? What do you want?
“Oh, he’s putting up decorations for mom for Mother’s Day right now,” Paisley filled the crowd in after a brief pause. “Is she already asleep? I’m on stage. That’s what you hear right now. I don’t have a laugh track. That’s them. So you know what you’re doing? You need help? Can I go back to the concert? Say you’re sorry to everybody. ..Tell them you’re sorry.”
Paisley held his phone to the mic so his son could say, “sorry, I know he’s working.” The audience laughed and applauded.
“There you go,” Paisley said, and spoke to the audience again. “The thing behind that is that it’s Mother’s Day tomorrow…and I told him, I said, ‘I’m not gonna be home in time, so you gotta do like’ — we always do these decorations all over the house when she wakes up in the morning. …So they’re doing it without me. …I’ve taught him well, right? I’m a great dad.
“This show is so off the rails tonight. I'm sorry,” Paisley said. Willams-Paisley wrote in the comments on Instagram: “Hahah the decorations turned out great!”
