The Nederland city council has named Rod Carroll as its new chief of police replacing Chief Gary Porter, who is retiring. Carroll currently serves as Vidor’s police chief. Carroll also has experience as a former Jefferson County deputy. Chief Carroll is expected to take over as Nederland’s police chief by the 1st of August.
