Beaumont electrician Calvin Walker appeared in front of Judge John Stevens yesterday for a status update on the more than $1 million he owes the Beaumont Independent School District. Walker was convicted in September of 2019 for billing the school district for work he did not do. To date, he was paid back the district around $9,000 of the $1.17 million he owes. He will appear in court again Friday. He faces 10 years in prison if the district is not repaid.
