Taking a look at some of the area results from Tuesday’s election, there will be new county commissioner in Pct 4 in Jefferson County. Current Beaumont City Councilman AJ Turner defeated incumbent Everett “Bo” Alfred with 59% of the vote in the democratic primary. There is not a republican candidate in November. For Justice of the Peace in Pct 4 in Jefferson County, incumbent Judge Justin Chesson picked up 62% of the vote to defeat Mo Molfino. There is not a republican in November. Former Port Arthur Mayor Thurman Bartie is in a runoff with Richard Davis for the Democratic nomination for U.S. Congress in District 14. The winner of the runoff will face incumbent Randy Weber in November.

As of Tuesday night, Talarico, a state House member from Austin, had about 53 percent of the vote, while US Representative Jasmine Crockett of Dallas trailed at 46 percent.
